About Me:
Hello, Friend.

I'm Angela Dobbins, Christian life coach and founder of True Life Family Ministries & True Living Today life coaching. Throughout the past seventeen years, I've had the privilege of working in the healthcare field, offering nursing care to children and adults of all ages. In addition, God has given me opportunities to work in Christian ministry, reaching out to others through community-based programs and by offering Biblical counseling, teaching, and mentoring.

Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, accompanied by Myofascial Pain Complex and a host of painful and debilitating symptoms. The course of events that followed were nearly devastating for me, including a divorce from my marriage of 20 years. But God is gracious and merciful, promising never to allow more upon us than we can bear. One thing I believe God has taught me through the years is that His love is deep and everlasting and that we are never beyond His reach.

No matter what circumstances I have faced in this life, God has proven His love to me as a faithful Friend through Jesus Christ and as my Heavenly Father. He has renewed my heart time and again. I want to help others know that God loves them just the same. It is my heart-felt passion to assist others in discovering the abundant life which is promised to them through Jesus Christ.

Because of Christ, we can learn to walk through life without shame or fear, despite the circumstances that surround us. My prayer is that each person might find new hope, renewed meaning in life, and that he or she might discover the person God created them to be, no matter what the obstacles!

What is Your Favorite health resource on the Internet
There are some really great health resources on the net. Rudy has done a great job of listing so many of them. One site I highly recommend is Rest Ministries. It is a wonderful site with a vast number of helpful resources and support for anyone suffering from chronic illness, as well as those who love and care for us. You can find it on the web at www.restministries.org.

Another site I have found to offer a great deal of helpful support and resources for those affected by disability is Joni & Friends International Disability Center at www.joniandfriends.org. Be sure to check out the ministry store. It is full of great stuff!
how did you find this community
I met Rudy through the Rest Ministries Illness-Disability-Healthcare-Caregiver-Ministry Network on Ning.

Rudy, I agree with what you've said. Giving to others is an expression of love. And love is the most powerful force known to man. God created us to love and to be loved. There is no better way to show that you love someone than reaching out a hand t…

The Principle of Character

The Principle of Character
by Angela Hall Dobbins

"Character cannot be developed in peace and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision be cleared, ambition insured and success achieved." - Helen Keller

There is something of great truth in this quote by Helen Keller. I'm sure that many of you are familiar with her story and of the near impossible circumstances she faced as a child who learned to "become", with the help of one dedicat… Continue

Minister to the Chronically Ill: 20 Ways in 20 Minutes

by Lisa Copen

Rest Ministries, the largest Christian organization that serves the chronically ill, recently did a poll, asking “List some of the programs or resources a church could offer to make it more inviting comfortable” Below is a sampling of the 800+ responses.

1. Send out encouraging emails.

2. Make sure the handicapped stalls in the restroom are functioning and clean.

3. Add padded chairs or cushions to make church easier to sit through. Room for wheelchairs is always a need and don… Continue

Easter's True Message

Easter's true message is "Love"- God's love for you and me.

We talk about love, we search for love... in all kinds of places and in most every way. But I believe the source of true love can be found in only one place- the heart of God. The Bible tells the story of how love entered into the world with the very act of creation. We can see it in every blade of grass and on the faces of the little flowers. In the songs of the robin and the whistling of the breeze, we hear it. And in the sun's warmt… Continue

Your Gift

Be sure to share your gift today
with someone along life's way;
though it may, to that one in need,
be a gift he can not repay.

Search deep within yourself
to find those special traits,
which God has gifted especially to you,
for uplifting others today.

Reach out and touch another
with the love God has placed deep within.
For, even when your own heart is heavy,
there is one whose heart you can tend.

So remember to think of someone today
whose life you may somehow touch,
that through the speci… Continue
