Sorry I didn’t post last week. The biggest reason why (besides the normal insanity) is because of a strapping young dark haired fellow by the name of Jacob. He was suppose to come and meet us on Monday, but no call no show. So we waited, wondering what was going on. Tuesday came & went, then Wednesday passed, Thursday went by and still no word. I was waiting to post until after we had met with this Jacob. Finally on Friday morning we got word that he was coming to meet with us at last. Long story short we met him at university hospitals at 3:15 Friday afternoon. By now you’re probably wondering who this Jacob is. Is he a Doctor? A caseworker? Therapist? No, not yet anyway. have you guessed it? Jacob is our newest Grandson! Here’s the story.

Friday morning our daughter (her due date was the previous Monday) called us and said she was going into labor. So we all headed for university hospitals where her Dr. was. She got there just in time for her water to break in the lobby. Needless to say they got her a room right quick! I got there shortly after. Once she was in her room and settled, all we could do was wait. The Dr. came in and checked her and said it would definitely be today but probably not till evening. They checked her again about 2 pm and said the baby probably wouldn’t be born until 6:00 or 7:00 pm. My wife and I decided this would be a good time to go out to our van and get the rest of our daughters stuff, and get a breath of fresh air. When we got out there, we decided to duck out to Mc Donald’s for a bite as we had left without breakfast. It was maybe 2:30. We should have a couple hours, plenty of time to slip off to grab a bite. Mc Donald’s was just a few blocks away, and we were just going to get it and take it back to the hospital with us. We wouldn’t be gone maybe 15 - 20 minutes at most. No problem right? If you’ve read very many of my posts you already know the answer, WRONG! My luck doesn’t run like that. My wife had just walked in the door when her cell phone rang, it was our daughter, get here NOW! That was at 2:57pm. Jacob was born at 3:15pm. And yes, we made it! We were back in her room in less than 5 minutes. I’m just glad we didn’t get caught! Although I’m pretty sure several of the people we met had some colorful things to say about us! And yes, he’s a healthy, strapping young man at almost 9 lbs. and has a head full of dark hair!
